“Vegan documentary” covers a lot of ground, though. Some of these films are a warm Sunday-evening watch. Others play like evidence submitted to a courtroom. And few things backfire harder than accidentally showing a curious friend the most brutal footage ever filmed and scaring them off for good.<\/p>\n

That is why this list is built as a path: from a gentle, blood-free start to the uncompromising truth at the end. Every film gets a Blood Score<\/strong> and an honest Evidence check<\/strong>. Because if you want to convince anyone, you need clean facts, not inflated numbers that collapse at the first follow-up question.<\/p>\n

Everything in between shows individual hard scenes without wallowing in them.<\/p>\n

New in August 2026: Big Chicken<\/h2>\n

Netflix dropped a documentary on 5 August 2026 that does not fit into any of the five acts below, simply because it is too fresh to place. It belongs here anyway.<\/p>\n

Big Chicken: A Fast Food Conspiracy (2026)<\/h3>\n

\nBritish comedian Mo Gilligan eats fried chicken three times a day for 28 days and travels across the UK and the US between meals, trying to work out how this one dish became the most eaten meat on the planet. He drives out to a broiler shed at night with activists, sits down with people in Chicago neighbourhoods that have no supermarket, and repeatedly fails to get KFC on the phone. The strongest thread is the history of the dish itself, from slavery to a racist stereotype. In the end the film brakes exactly where it gets interesting: Gilligan keeps eating meat and suggests frying the chicken yourself. As a door-opener for people who would switch off within a minute of Dominion, it still works.<\/p>\n
